Narrow escapes living on the road
Share Bryce Yarboroughs most harrowing moments on the road as he encounters machete-wielding drug dealers in the Rif Mountains of Morocco, struggles with the psychic snare of a religious cult, escapes the trauma of rape, survives a knife attack by a Hawaiian lapu, stares down the barrel of a forty-five, nearly freezes to death in a subzero blizzard, and more.
These true stories show a man who throws his life to chance after a devastating divorce and drug overdose. Seeking to recover from unrequited love,
Yarborough sets upon a hitchhiking journey to see the world and discover his purpose. He eagerly and naively hops into every vehicle that stops to give him a ride.
Yarborough takes the journey many have only imagined. He provides readers the chance to vicariously explore a rootless life facing the unknown.
Bryce Yarborough gives us a real page-turner: amazing, enticing,

Wingin It: On the Edge Adventures
Close Calls dust jacket (hardback) flaps:In Close Calls, master storyteller Bryce Yarborough takes you on a wild ride recounting his true adventures. As a young man disillusioned by his life and looking for meaning, he sets off on a hitchhiking journey that spans four continents.
Heeding the advice of Ray Bradbury, who advises aspiring writers to be a kind of hysterical, emotional, vibrant creature who lives at the top of his lungs ," Yarborough propels himself into a world of intrigue. He naively discovers that some people want to befriend him, and others are bent on using him for their own purposes.
Forced to rely on his wits, Yarborough miraculously survives numerous brushes with danger and near death. Each chapter captures one of his narrow escapes while living on the road.
During his journey, Yarborough traveled throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Mexico, and parts of Central America, South America and North Africa.
He spent weeks and months camping and hiking alone in wilderness areas. To support his travels, he worked odd jobs such as waiting tables in New York and California, framing houses in Alaska, trimming coconut trees in Hawaii, picking grapes in France and working as a street musician.
After graduating from the University of Missouri School of Journalism, Yarborough worked several years as a newspaper reporter in Colorado before boarding a cruise ship as its newspaper editor. He left the cruise ship to travel in Mexico and Central America.
He then returned to Kansas City, Missouri, where he began a rock band. He also worked as a travel copywriter and a public relations professional.
Yarborough presently lives in Kansas where he continues to write books, screenplays, songs and poems.
His first volume of poems, Believe In Life: A poetic journey, is available on a 57-minute CD that provides the listener a relaxed, contemplative voyage through words, musical accompaniment and sound effects.
